OMRO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP

The Omro Volunteer Fire Department has been in existence since 1891 providing fire service for all of the people in our fire district.  In the early 1990’s the fire department also added First Responders as another way of providing serves to people who needed medical attention.  The Omro Volunteer Fire Department will award on $500.00 non-renewable scholarship to a student interested in the Fire Science or Emergency Medical Technician-paramedic field.  This scholarship is given so that, like all of the members of the fire department, the recipient will also provide a service to their community.

Conditions of the Scholarship:

1.     The recipient must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary school.

2.     The recipient must be a good citizen in school and community.

3.     The scholarship money will be awarded to the recipient upon completion of the first semester of post-secondary school.  A copy of the first semester grades (of at least a 2.5 grade point average) and proof of enrollment for the second semester must be submitted to the Omro Volunteer Fire Department.

4.     This scholarship Must be used the first year out of high school, unless extenuating circumstances do not allow recipient to enroll.  (i.e. Allowable extenuating circumstances will be determined by by the fire department scholarship committee.)
